The Ultimate genealogy detective

“Lesley is truly remarkable – the ultimate genealogy detective. From a request to find out the names of my great grandparents, she has traced back 12 generations to 1570 in England. All of the information was verified by copies of official birth, marriage and death certificates, and in some cases baptism in rural churches. Lesley has even found war service records and awards, and the pictures of graves of relatives that had immigrated to Australia in the 1920s that I did not know about. All I had to start with was the names and birthdates of my grandparents. Lesley committed to the task as though she was a member of the family and it was her personal quest. I have shared with her with a box of unidentified photographs and some letters from the 1920s, confident in her professional respect for my precious family belongings.

On behalf of a society to which I belong, I tasked Lesley with finding out about a scientist in the early 1900’s. Within 24 hours she was on the phone to the last surviving relative.

Lesley’s passion, knowledge and resourcefulness enables her to search quickly and efficiently. Her ability to eliminate false trails and focus on productive ones means that you get results for you quickly and at very reasonable cost. If I had tried to do this on my own, I would have wasted lots of time, effort and money. I would recommend Lesley to anyone that wanted to know more about their family history. You will be amazed at what Lesley will find for you, but be prepared for surprises!”

Detail oriented

After wondering for years about my ancestry, I was lucky to have met Lesley Gentry and learned of her extensive background in genealogy. While I was only able to provide her with names and dates of birth and death as far back as my paternal and maternal grandparents, Mrs. Gentry was able to provide me with a family tree listing ancestors from several generations. I now know more about my family than I could have ever imagined and really enjoyed learning about my hodgepodge of ethnicity, which certainly explains a lot about my family!

I realize that I could have tried to research this information myself but quite frankly, I'm better off letting a professional handle this.  Mrs. Gentry is very detail oriented in her work and I am eternally grateful to her for the time and effort she put forth into researching my family history.
